Hulk Hogan died last month aged 71, and Ozzy Osbourne died a few days later at the age of 76.

Both are icons from a long-gone era, and both didn't really translate especially well to newer generations, especially Hulk Hogan.

I bet most people born after 2000 think Hulk Hogan was just a particularly loud Trump supporter.

Ironically, another thing they have in common is that MTV ran relatively reality shows based on their respective lives, and around the same time.

But anyway, that's beside the point, because the point is they died, which means memecoins were born.

A wETH token called Hulkmania (HULK) rose 122,000 percent last week, and another called The Mad Man (OZZY) pumped over 16,800 percent.

Another Hogan-inspired token, this one's on Solana, did +2,000 percent last week.

This is clearly a trend.

When someone famous dies, memecoins with their name on it are created, or if they already exist, they soar.

Beats me. I don't mess with memecoins.
