Good news for OpenSEA

By LeftFooted | bitcoinea | 23 Feb 2025

There's good news on the horizon for OpenSEA.

The world's most famous NFT marketplace was being investigated by the SEC, but the SEC has decided to close the investigation and drop the case.

OpenSea founder Devin Finzer called this "a win for everyone" in the crypto industry.

The SEC is dropping a lot of cases and closing a lot of investigations.

Recently, the SEC had already dropped another lawsuit, this time against Coinbase.

The investigation had opened in August 2024, when the SEC essentially said OpenSea was operating a marketplace for unregistered securities, ie NFTs.
