After Coinbase and Gemini, the SEC drops another 'politically motivated' lawsuit

By LeftFooted | bitcoinea | 3 Mar 2025

The SEC has dropped another lawsuit against another crypto exchange, Kraken.

According to Kraken, the lawsuit was "dismissed with no admission of wrongdoing, no penalties and no changes to Kraken's business".

The SEC had sued Kraken in November 2023, alleging that the exchange was acting as a broker/dealer/exchange/and so forth without registering with the SEC.

Kraken is just a latest crypto project to join the very long list of targets the SEC was going after, and the list includes Coinbase, Uniswap, OpenSea, Gemini and many more.

Kraken has called the lawsuit politically motivated, which it might as well have been, considering it was dropped under the new administration, who is obviously openly crypto-friendly.
