Now that DefiBids, the perpetual crypto auctioning DeFi platform has been live for a month or so, it's a little easier to take a look at the data and try to see if there's anything to be found that might help us to increase our chances of winning auctions, and walking away with the prizes.
If you're not already familiar with the DefiBids platform and staking token (with 15% of all ETH used to purchase credits on the platform being paid out to stakers), you can read my short introductory post published at Publish0x HERE. And arguably one of the best features of the DefiBids platform is the "Closed Auctions" page, which allows you to view details of all of the completed auctions that have closed to date. Providing a treasure trove of information for the more strategic bidder looking to gain insights into what might help them secure that bag in subsequent auctions.
$50 ETH Auction Winning Bids Analysed
Let's take a look at the last six $50 ETH prize lowest unique bid auctions...

As can be clearly seen, all six auctions were won with a bid ranging between $0.15 and $0.22. Which is a pretty tight range with only 7 cents between the lowest and highest winning bid, and with the mean of all these winning bids being at approximately $0.19.
The keen eyed among you might notice also that four of these six auctions were won by the same bidder. The reason lowest-unique-bid (LUB) auction platforms are exempt from requiring a gambling license in most countries, is due to the strategic element of the game. i.e. it's not considered to be gambling - but more a game of strategy. And clearly our friend 0x4df39 knows what they're doing...
To place a bid on the DefiBids platform requires credits, with each credit costing $1's worth of ETH. Each of the $50 ETH LUB auctions above cost 2 credits to participate, so $2 per play. If we were to presume that the trend above were to continue and that the winning bid for the next $50 ETH auctions was to also fall within this $0.15-$0.22 range, and cover each of these eight values. 0.15, 0.16. 0.17, 0.18, 0.19, 0.20, 0.21 and 0.22. At $2 per bid (guess). We would have spent $16 total, to win the prize of $50. Making us $34 profit. Of course as with any strategic game where we're competing against other players, nothing is guaranteed - but based upon historical data, the odds would appear to be in our favor. And if like our friend 0x4df39 we could repeat that kind of performance over and over, that could make for a pretty decent pay-day...
