Hello fellow cryptids,
As I was visiting my hive (06/06/25), I came across a large quantity of drones (male bees) in development.

You normally get rid of those to limit the invasion of Varroa destructor. You can see one varroa (little brown dot on the abdomen) already feasting on a nymph in the image below.

So I decided to try and cook those to not let it go to waste. The most difficult part was to gently extract the nymph from the wax cell. I "pop" a lot of them in juice before I get used to the maneuver...

I honestly took 40 minutes to extract 40 nymphs... Then wash them, throw some butter in a pan and cook them with salt for like 3–4 minutes.

So a lot of work for heavy protein snacks who taste like... salt and butter. Very crispy and enjoyable in front of a good (or realy bad) related movie like "The Fly"(1986) or "Mosquito" (1994). But too much hassle to reiterate.

Till next time !
