[Travel] Norway Part 1

[Travel] Norway Part 1

By FuThemen | BasicAttentionTravel | 27 Mar 2020

Hello,

if corona would have not hit the world since some weeks, I would have visited norway for the third time last week. But - due to cancelled flights - I had to cancel this vacation. So, today I want to show you some pictures from my very first trip to north Norway.

So, let's start my travelreport here...

On Sunday, we took our flight from the airport Amsterdam Schiphol, which should us bring to Oslo. From Olso, our next flight was planned to bring us to airport Tromsø.

This was the first time, I've seen this "defrosting of an airplane" live....

Flying over norway looks just beautiful

But, when we arrived in Oslo, we had a delay of some minutes, and did't got our second flight. So, we were stuck in the airport. After a talk to the very friendly service staff, we got a hotel room for this night in the airport hotel. At this point we decided, to go out for a walk on this evening.

The next morning, our flight to Tromsø went of, and we finally got to our destination. As we landed there and checked in at our rental-car-station, the very friendly staff (which looked like a viking) had some bad news for us. Our car was gone, since we were round about 12 hours too late. Since I'm a Volvo-Fan, our rental volvo was one of the points, I was really curious about, and now we don't would get this car... But, "since we were only two people" the car-rental-man said "I could offer you an alternative. Maybe you would like some kind of pickup with AWD". Well, I wasn't that disappointed anylonger. This was our truck for this week:

Driving in the snow is just gorgeous! While knowing, you have spikes on your tires, you can drive nearly as on dry streets (well, ... nearly...). I really enjoyed driving in norway, but on the other hand, my travel mate had some states of anxiety, while rushing through the snow ;)

So we finally arrived at our hotel and fell asleep. The first night was now over, and we haven't seen any polarlights, one of the reasons we visited norway.

The next morning rises, and our plan was to walk through Tromsø. So next are some impressions from this city.

This was the view from our hotel-room.

In the next part, I will show more pictures of our trip, and also tell you, why I left the Hotel around midnight in my pyjamas...
