The Kiss, converted to NFT

By avro | avroiphoneography | 28 Jan 2022

Austrian artist Gustav Klimt's masterpiece, The Kiss, has not resisted entering the world of NFTs.

This famous painting has been broken into 10,000 pieces and will be put up for sale as non-fungible tokens. The Belvedere Gallery in Vienna, where the original work is exhibited, will put each NFT up for sale at a price of €1,850.

To give the launch more charm or marketing, it will take place on February 14, Valentine's Day or Valentine's Day as you prefer to call it, and they have baptized the campaign, as "A declaration of digital love".

From now on, the controversy of the true purpose of this type of campaign by the great museums of the world opens. For some, it will be a way of gaining access to a piece of art property, against the background of speculation about its possible revaluation over time, and for others, it is a brazen way of obtaining financing at the expense of selling something, which in itself It just doesn't make sense, let's not forget that if they manage to sell 10,000 units, (and I have no doubt they will) they will get a not inconsiderable amount, €18,500,000.

Without going into the controversy that I have just commented on, I see this type of initiative as positive, since it continues to be one more grain of sand in the adoption of blockchain technology. I am convinced that for many of those who are interested in buying a piece of El Beso, it will be their first approach to the world with this world.

If anyone is interested, I leave you the link (thekiss.art) so that you can join the White List, and wait to be selected to be able to buy your NFT.

Thank you very much for your time.
