Splinterland's: Battle Mage Secrets "Fog of War"
This week's Battle Mage Secrets featured the ruleset "Fog of War" in which all monsters lose the sneak, snipe and opportunity abilities. In short, all monsters will be targeting the first monster in the enemy lineup.
I got the ruleset below with 43 mana caps and little leagues do not allow any monster above 4 mana so 43 mana is enough to fill all monsters having 4 mana as their cost.
I decided to go with the dragon Sommoner Daria Dragonscale so that I can use my dragon cards of Manticore and Fire Sitter. I like Dr. Bligt's poison, Affliction, and scavenging ability, and put Beetle Queen after it so it can be healed when it reaches to tank position.
My tank is Cerebrus which is getting +1 melee attack bonus by summoner and have healing capability. Last in line is Scavo Firebolt having 3 range attack, I also felt might be Flame Imp or Goblin Firemage make the better choice at the last position but having Scavo Firebolt balances the margin and range attack on my team.
Let's move to the Battle
Below is the screenshot with all the monster and the summoner abilities.
It looks to me that I will definitely lose as my range attacks are reduced to 1 and also suffered -2 penalty on a melee attack.
Both survived round 1 without loss and reached round 2. My healing ability really helped me to have no loss in Round 1.
We both lost our tank in the previous round and suddenly I felt an upper hand in battle as my range attack monster have 2 attack instead of 1.
Healing and increased range attack did wonders for me as the opponent has lost the second monster. Also, Dr. Blight now with 10 health backed by Beetle Queen really becomes a strong tank if it reaches tank position.
Opponent life leech ability has helped to survive this round without any loss, but my Dr. Blight become more dangerous now.
My Dr. Blight in tank position with 14 heath backed by healing , I start smelling victory.
The battle continued till round 10 but at this stage, my attack is stronger than the opponent's attack, Strong tank backed with healing, and I am all set for victory.
