Why Every Sponsored YouTube VPN Is Trash for Real OpSec:
If a YouTuber calls NordVPN, Surfshark, ExpressVPN, CyberGhost, or IPVanish “the most private” or “best value” – they are reading a sponsor script.
The real high-privacy providers never pay influencers.
Threat Model:
NordVPN & Surfshark (same parent company) → Email + Stripe/PayPal/Google Pay → one subpoena and you’re doxxed.
PureVPN → handed over logs to the FBI in 2017 (used in a conviction). Still sponsored. Cooperated in a 2024 cyberstalking case Don't use. But also, don't stalk. That's creepy.
My #1 Pick: Mullvad VPN – Truly NON-KYC Since 2009
Account = random 16-digit number only (no email, no signup)
$5.75 per month, static pricing
Audited no-logs: https://mullvad.net/en/help/no-logging-data-policy
WireGuard with post-quantum Kyber in the handshake (the symmetric stream itself remains classically secure but not yet post-quantum):

The Official Mullvad Browser is also private.
How to Fund Mullvad 100% Anonymously: Two Solutions
Solution 1: Cash by Mail (Untraceable)
https://mullvad.net/en/account/payment/cash
Create account → print or write out the 16-digit account number generated onto a slip of paper
Place cash + account number on paper in a plain envelope
Mail anonymously (no return address needed)
1–4 weeks later: your account has been credited.
~$5.00 per month, static pricing
Section: Obfuscation of Funds for Security
Once setup, I recommend sending portions of the funds from your custodial wallet from the major exchange custodial wallet into the new Electrum wallet you have established. You will then create additional, separate Electrum wallets, and transfer portions of the principle from the initial wallet you created onto the new ones. Here is a simple diagram of the flow of funds, amounts are arbitrary. This is a rudimentary template of flows to replicate in your unique situation with the amounts you are working with. Separate Electrum wallets will be differentiated and labeled accordingly; A,B,C, etc.
Coinbase (established with KYC): you have deposited and converted USD->BTC via successfully verifying your Coinbase account or are directing someone who has an established Coinbase wallet that has been verified:
Coinbase Wallet Balance: $500.00USD in BTC (use current exchange rates to reflect these amounts)
Phase 1: Breaking the KYC Link (Coinbase → Electrum A/B/C)
Coinbase (KYC Exchange)
$500.00 BTC
│
├───► Electrum Wallet A : $120.00
│ (new wallet, fresh address)
│
├───► Electrum Wallet B : $280.00
│ (new wallet, fresh address)
│
└───► Electrum Wallet C : $100.00
(new wallet, fresh address)
After transfers → Coinbase balance = $0.00
Phase 2 (recommended Extra Seasoning Hop OPSEC):
(during this phase you can also switch IP via VPN and continue)
Electrum A ($120) ──► (new VPN address, new wallet, fresh address) Electrum D ($120)
Electrum B ($280) ──► (new VPN address, new wallet, fresh address) Electrum E ($280)
Electrum C ($100) ──► (new VPN address, new wallet, fresh address) Electrum F ($100)
Full Recommended Flow (visual summary)
Due to the formatting upon publish, please copy and paste the below flowchart onto your notepad then expand the window to view the flow unobstructed and as intended*
KYC Exchange BTC → XMR obfuscation:
[KYC Exchange (Coinbase/Binance/etc.)]
├──→ Electrum A → Electrum D → ChangeNow → XMR Feather Wallet #1 ───┐
├──→ Electrum B → Electrum E → ChangeNow → XMR Feather Wallet #2 ───┤ → XMR Feather Wallet #4 →Sweep in New Address -> Pay Mullvad
└──→ Electrum C → Electrum F → ChangeNow → XMR Feather Wallet #3 ───┘
Final result:
• All KYC links permanently broken
• Funds now in private Monero (XMR) consolidated from 3 separate Feather wallets into 1
• Ready to pay Mullvad (or anything else) anonymously
Thanks for reading. Hope this kills whatever trust you still had in sponsored VPNs and gets you on track to real privacy.
