The same species in different environments - cycling in search of ducks

I decided to take a trip to two different places where you can meet the same species of duck, namely the mallard.

Postanowiłem zrobić sobie wycieczkę w dwa różne miejsca, gdzie spotkać można ten sam gatunek kaczki, a mianowicie kaczkę krzyżówkę.

Both environments are, of course, stagnant water, but in one case it is a large pond in the center of an agglomeration, where there are a lot of people, anglers, competitive birds, and there is a fairly busy street nearby.

Oba środowiska to oczywiście woda stojąca , lecz w jednym przypadku to duży staw w centrum aglomeracji, gdzie jest sporo ludzi, wędkarzy, konkurencyjnego ptactwa, a do tego w pobliżu jest dosyć ruchliwa ulica.

The second place is literally a huge pond, located in the heart of a park of several hundred hectares, where, for a change, it is calm, quiet, there are practically no people, streets and cars.

Drugie miejsce to dosłownie wielkie oczko wodne, położone w sercu kilkuset hektarowego parku, gdzie dla odmiany jest spokojnie, cicho, praktycznie nie ma ludzi, ulic i samochodów.

I also decided to watch these ducks a little, how they function in these different environments. The large pond offers much more. The food is varied, rich vegetation, crustaceans, fish. Additionally, they are fed by humans.

Postanowiłem również popodglądać trochę te kaczki, jak funkcjonują w tych odmiennych środowiskach. Duży staw oferuje znacznie więcej. Pożywienie jest urozmaicone, bogata roślinność, skorupiaki, ryby. Dodatkowo są dokarmiane przez ludzi.

A pond, on the other hand, is a bit of a sanatorium, where the diet is limited to poor vegetation, algae and sometimes tadpoles. However, in both of these cases, it turns out that the ducks feel good and it is enough for them to function normally and start a family.

Oczko wodne natomiast to trochę sanatorium, gdzie dieta jest ograniczona do ubogiej roślinności, glonów i czasami kijanek. Jednak w obu tych przypadkach okazuje się, że kaczki czują się dobrze i wystarczy im to do normalnego funkcjonowania i zakładania rodziny.

Of course, the environment in which ducks live affects their behavior. Ducks from the agglomeration have become accustomed to people, they often come to anglers, to walking people, waiting for some treats. They are not shy, they do not run away. The ducks from the park's pond are distrustful, skittish, they are not interested in food offered by people, the poor food they have is enough for them.

Oczywiście środowisko, w którym kaczki przebywają wpływa na ich zachowania. Kaczki z aglomeracji przyzwyczaiły się do ludzi, często podpływają do wędkarzy, do spacerujących ludzi oczekując na jakieś smakołyki. Nie są płochliwe, nie uciekają. Kaczki z parkowego oczka są nieufne, płochliwe, nie są zainteresowane pokarmem oferowanym przez ludzi, wystarcza im ten ubogi, który mają.

I took some unusual shots from hiding watching the daily rituals of ducks. It looks quite phenomenal and even nice. The photos are from behind the bushes, and not entirely clear. But I think those understatements are very cool.

Zrobiłem trochę nietypowych ujęć z ukrycia podglądając codzienne rytuały kaczek. Wygląda to dość zjawiskowo i nawet sympatycznie. Zdjęcia są zza krzaków, i nie do końca wyraźne. Ale myślę, ze takie niedopowiedziane są bardzo fajne.
