The route of the former narrow-gauge railway - cycling around the Silesian Park

There are almost no traces of the former narrow-gauge railway that ran through the forested areas of the Silesian Park. The tracks are just a memory, because the bandit and thief rule of the president of the then park, a certain Godlewski, led the Silesian Park to ruin. The narrow-gauge railway is just the tip of the iceberg, because private owners of various businesses were also hit.

Śladów po dawnej kolejce wąskotorowej, która przebiegała przez zalesione rejony parku Śląskiego już prawie nie ma. Torowisko, to tylko wspomnienie, bo bandycko-złodziejskie rządy prezesa ówczesnego parku, niejakiego Godlewskiego, doprowadziły Park Śląski do ruiny. Kolejka wąskotorowa to tylko czubek góry lodowej, bo oberwało się również prywatnym właścicielom różnych biznesów.

Formerly a narrow-gauge railway, it was a real attraction. A small diesel locomotive pulled several roofed, windowless cars through the park. Now there are only traces of the track in the form of a trail sprinkled with gravel here and there. At least you can ride a bike there.

Dawniej kolejka wąskotorowa, to była nie lada atrakcja. Mała spalinowa lokomotywa ciągnęła przez park kilka zadaszonych wagoników, bez okien. Teraz zostały jedynie ślad po torowisku w postaci szlaku gdzieniegdzie wysypanego szutrem. Da się tam przynajmniej pojeździć rowerem.

There is still the building of the railway station, where the whole adventure began or ended. There is a bar there now.

Pozostał jeszcze budynek stacji kolejki, gdzie zaczynała się lub kończyła cała przygoda. Teraz funkcjonuje tam jakiś bar.

There is a lot of traffic at the construction site of the new canal. The redevelopment plans have probably changed completely. When I watched the robots in winter and spring, it looked like some kind of cosmetics. Today, apparently, there are different guidelines, because almost everything has been smashed. We'll see what comes of it.

Na placu budowy nowego kanału wielki ruch. Prawdopodobnie zupełnie zmieniły się plany przebudowy. Gdy obserwowałem roboty zima i wiosną, wyglądało to na jakąś kosmetykę. Dzisiaj najwyraźniej są inne wytyczne, bo rozwalono zostało niemalże wszystko. Zobaczymy co z tego wyniknie.
