Rinjani Volcano is located on Lombok Island in the Gunung Rinjani National Park adjacent to the island of Bali. It is 3726 m high and is the second largest volcano in Indonesia.

But the National Park is not only a volcano and a lake. You can see wonderful caves for example Gua Susu, waterfalls, hot springs. There are also some small villages. The lake in the caldera, on the other hand, is a frequent place of pilgrimage for Hindus, because it is sacred to them.

Inside the huge caldera, which is 6 km by 8 km, there is Lake Segara Anak, the PH of the water is about 7-8, which means it is alkaline. At its deepest point, the lake is 230 meters deep and was formed during the volcanic eruption on Samalas in 1257.

In the middle of the lake there is a small volcanic cone, Gunung Baru Jari. This volcano is about 150 m high and is still active, to such an extent that it can significantly raise the temperature of the lake up to 35 degrees.

This version is more reasonable, because the entire route is well over 35 km of trekking in difficult conditions. Up to 2,000 meters it is muggy and hot, and the humidity reaches 100%. Everything is sticky and sticky. Above, it gets much colder, and in the morning the temperature can be around 0 degrees.

Podróż najlepiej planować w porze suchej, która przypada w tym regionie od kwietnia do listopada. W porze deszczowej może być niebezpiecznie, a przy załamaniu pogody trekking na Rinjani jest wręcz niemożliwy.

Regardless of the form of climbing, however, it is necessary to hire a licensed guide. Without it, theoretically, you cannot legally climb the volcano. There are designated camping sites along the route, unfortunately the sanitary level is terrible.
