Brzoza opanowana przez hubiaka pospolitego - Wiosenne penetrowanie lasu
I found this beautiful common lizard, resembling a large, tasty hamburger, in another forest that I had never ventured into before.
Tego pięknego hubiaka pospolitego, przypominającego wielkiego apetycznego hamburgera namierzyłem w kolejnym lesie, do którego jeszcze nigdy się nie zapuszczałem.
On two dead birches, I expected the birch polypore, but I found another arboreal fungus, namely the ice man fungus, and in large quantities.
Na dwóch obumarłych brzozach spodziewałem się raczej białoporka brzozowego, ale znalazłem jednak innego nadrzewnego grzyba, a mianowicie hubiaka i to w dużej ilości.
Mushrooms are in different stages of growth and of different ages. Some of them were attacked by some insects, bark beetles, because you can clearly see traces of feeding and a hole in the mushrooms.
Grzyby są w różnych stadiach wzrostu, w różnym wieku. Część z nich została zaatakowana przez jakieś owady, korniki, bo widać wyraźnie ślady żerowania i dziuro w grzybach.
On one side of the tree, on the southwest side, there were dead, old fruiting bodies, and on the northeast side, there were live and young mushrooms. Unfortunately, I don't know whether the birch died first and then the fungi appeared on it, or whether the fungi caused the death of the tree.
Z jednej strony drzewa - południowo-zachodniej sterczały obumarłe, stare owocniki, a po stronie północno-wschodniej żywe, i młode grzyby. Nie wiem niestety czy brzoza najpierw obumarła, a potem pojawiły się na niej grzyby, czy grzyby spowodowały śmierć drzewa.
I must admit that I have never seen such an accumulation of this species of mushroom in one place. Apparently they like this birch very much, because I most often see the tinder fungus on old poplars.
Muszę przyznać, ze takiego nagromadzenia tego gatunku grzyba w jednym miejscu jeszcze nigdy nie widziałem. Najwyraźniej ta brzoza bardzo przypadła im do gustu, bo najczęściej spotykam hubiaka pospolitego na starych topolach.
