When you get as much negative reactions and feedback plus as many dislikes as me & not even getting tipped for the posts you've busted your hump to write, tends to turn you away from feeling like writing ya know? Anyways enough of that I'm not asking for pity. I am writing this one because I'm super excited to announce that I've finally built my first dedicated CPU mining rig! Yes alot of you people will talk crap saying things along the lines of "hey don't you know that cpu mining isn't profitable" or "cpu mining is a joke a waste of power". Sorry i guess your just not a pro at all kinds of mining and node farming like me because a lot of people out there make more CPU mining than GPU mining at times. quite often in fact, just look it up on YouTube my friends. Anyways let's get into this thing shall we?

PARTS

1. MOTHERBOARD:

I started off the build with a GIGABYTE GA-AX370 Gaming brand motherboard which wasn't my first choice but i found a deal on a bundle that even at used prices was not only a steal for almost mint condition parts, but when i calculated all parts plus S&H it was six of one and half a dozen of the other meaning it was pretty much the same. this board has everything i need in a motherboard for a mining rig and stuff that's just bonus not to mention the main thing i needed was it's AM4 socket for AMD Ryzen CPU's which are a must have for mining with a CPU.

2. CPU:

Ok the cpu that came in the bundle was better than my original choice since i was looking to go cheap and efficient. I got a Ryzen R 7 1700x which has 8 cores and 16 threads and a hash rate of a little over 5 KH/s, so way better than the R 3 1400x  and R 5 1600x i was looking at since those are simply dual and quad core respectively. They of course were also standard when it came to threads meaning that they had hyperthreading which doubles the threads versus how many cores so dual core has four threads and quad has eight. compared to the core i 3 7100 my desktop has which only pulls a measly 2.4 KH/s I've doubled my hash rate and then some.

3. COOLER:

I originally wanted a standard wraith prism cooler that is the oem cooler for current Ryzen CPU'S as I dislike the older wraith stealth model since it didn't have heat pipes or choice of RGB. However I ended up getting a cooler master brand tower air cooler that I'm not sure the model of due to it wasn't listed on the advert but it's similar looking to one of noctua's tower coolers but not as thick. Don't worry there will be a picture in the post somewhere.

4. GPU:

AMD Ryzen CPU's mostly don't have integrated graphics and since this is a CPU rig i didn't buy one yet as i want one capable of mining so i can mine with CPU & GPU as well as the HDD or SSD as this is how i mine on any rig. I didn't buy one though so right now it has a GEFORCE 9500 GT 1GB GDDR2 that i scavenged out of the junk desktop cryptotab farm i own. I know it's ancient but it works for now.

5. HDD:

I chose this WD caviar blue 2 TB hard drive simply because i am planning to rent the drive space for data storage and will earn even more crypto this way. It was a brand new drive my brother gave me as well as one of only two hard drives i own that are 1 TB or higher as anything less isn't profitable.

6. PSU:

When it comes to the PSU i chose i did not remember the brand and it's not easily accessible currently due to the rig set up and how it's set up but I simply chose the second or third cheapest 1000w 80 plus bronze unit i could find as this is plenty for this set up.

Alright guys that does it for the parts I haven't got it mining yet due to difficulties with Hive OS but today I'm going to either fix the problem or wait for payday so i can just get a fresh WIN 10 pro set up but I'm still going to show you the picture of my new dedicated CPU rig. I know it works as I've already turned it on set the bios and booted it from a 16 GB USB drive multiple times already while I've been attempting to get it set up. My personal recommendation to become as well as maintain profitability while mining with a CPU is To use profit switching pools like Monero Ocean. These pools will benchmark your CPU when you first go to start mining with them after you've been to their pools website and set up the profit switcher according to their instructions.
