Much Needed Simple Skin Care Routine For Men

I know Publush0x is mostly about crypto, but I’m new to the crypto world, and don’t think I’d add much insight there. Instead, I thought I’d write about things I know, and since some of ya’ll crypto bro faces look like week-old PB & J's (crusty), I thought I’d offer a simple skin care routine. SIMPLE. Meaning the basics. Ya’ll can get wild with it on your own time.

STEP ONE: Cleanser. Buy a cheap, gentle, face cleanser. Cetaphil or Cerave face cleansers are readily available, at least here in the US. They even sell it in grocery stores, and they work perfectly. Buy one of these and start using them once a day ideally AT NIGHT. Yeah, not in the morning. At night you’ll clean off all the grime your nasty face accumulated throughout the day and you don’t want to go to sleep with all that sludge on your face. In the morning, clean with just water, and, after about a month of consistent use, you can start using the cleanser twice, in the morning and at night, if you feel you want to. Once a day at night is fine for most people though, and water in the morning. In terms of how much to use, you'll be relieved to hear just half a pump will work (probably a common amount of pumps for most of you). Rub it in, suds it up, wash it off immediately with water, and then pat your face dry with a CLEAN towel.

PRO TIP: If you don’t want to purchase a face cleanser use just water. STOP using soap on your face. Soap is not meant for your face. Soap will dry out your face and make you look like, well, look in the mirror.

STEP TWO: Moisturizer. You may have heard from your girlfriend (or, after seeing some of you, your sister) that you need an AM and PM moisturizer, but that is complex, and we are keeping it SIMPLE. Most of you will benefit with, again, a Cetaphil or Cerave moisturizer. These are widely available and cheap. Put it on twice a day AFTER you clean your face (with your cleanser in the PM or water in the AM). Dry your face and glob it on, then rub it in. Don’t be one of those dudes with visible moisturizer on your face, please, rub it in. This will alleviate your crusty-ness so please, start doing this ASAP for all of our sake.

STEP THREE: Sunscreen. Yes, even in the winter. The sun damages your skin, it’s that simple. SPF 30 - 50 will work. This is where I do get a bit bougy and use a Cotz Tinted SPF 50 sunscreen. It’s a bit more expensive, like $30 US but lasts a while because you only need to use a little bit. Again, there are cheaper options out there, just make sure they are sunscreens meant for the face.

PRO TIP: There are moisturizers that have SPF in them (Cerave offers one) and if you’re too lazy to add another step, at least use one of those.

And that’s it. Those are the BARE ESSENTIALS. It takes all of five minutes and it should be easy to add to your routine, just do it when you brush your teeth (yeah, fellas, you should be brushing your teeth twice a day). Of course there are other things like: exfoliators if you want to be a real pretty boy, toner for those of you with acne prone skin (like myself), eye creams for anyone's eyes that are sagging worse than a 90 year old grandmother, and many other things that you can research on your own if you care enough. But, if you're currently doing nothing, I strongly recommend taking these steps and you’ll be surprised how many compliments you’ll receive on your skin and how much better you feel about yourself. Yes, fellas, it’s ok to put some effort into how you look, feel good about yourself, and care about the way you look.

Disclaimer: I am not receiving any compensation for the brands mentioned above. These are just what I use and thought they’d be helpful as a starting point. I am not a dermatologist, just a dude that follows a skin care routine and thinks you should too.
