When I logged into my Coinbase Wallet today, I was greeted with a new message in the top banner scrolling across my account: "Claim your free NFT today." Always intrigued with free digital assets, I clicked through and found that Coinbase has not one but two NFT series featured that are completely free this month - minting costs included!
To snag your free NFTs, open up your Coinbase Wallet and scroll over to click on the "Claim your free NFT today" message on the banner just below the blue transaction buttons at the top of your screen. You'll be taken to the "Getting Started" screen, and will see two free NFT sets listed first.
Onchain Summer: Coinbase Weekly Collection
- The first NFT series is the Onchain Summer: Coinbase Weekly Collection celebrating the launch of the Base mainnet. Currently the first two weeks' NFTs are available to claim, with a third one queued up for week three; it appears these are weekly NFTs that launch every Sunday. These NFTs are minted on Base, and as I mentioned above, at the time of writing there are no minting or gas fees to claim these NFTs to your account.
ABCs to the Cryptoverse
- The second NFT series is the ABCs to the Cryptoverse series, which currently has three NFTs available to claim. These NFTs are minted on Polygon, and again - no minting or gas fees to claim.
Minting each of these five NFTs is as simple as a few button clicks for each. It'll take a few minutes for all five to arrive in your wallet. And that's it! You're now a proud owner of five shiny new NFTs!
