I don’t know where you are in your pursuit of financial freedom, but if you are reading this I can assume it matters to you, and you are interested at some level in doing something about it.
If you are an active investor and well on your way to getting out of the rat race, today’s message might still be encouraging, but primarily I’m writing to everyone else.
If you are still waiting to get started, I want to encourage you and the Rich Dad Company is all about supporting your next step. And if fear is primarily what is holding you back, I can only say—I’ve been there.
However, I can also say, you will not achieve your financial goals if you let fear and uncertainty hold you back.
I started investing in real estate in my mid-twenties. To some people, that might have seemed young. However, my rich dad had taught me at an early age the value of real estate and cash flow, so I was very motivated to get started.
I do have one regret when it comes to real estate investing. In fact, I would imagine nearly every successful real estate investor has the same regret I do.
The number one regret of successful real estate investors is… “I wish I would have started sooner”.
Every successful investor I’ve spoken to has their own journey. They will share wins, losses, lessons, and breakthrough moments. Some people focus on the financial part of becoming a successful investor and it’s true that the ability to develop cash flow and wealth can be life changing, but more than that is the personal satisfaction of overcoming fears, doubts, and challenges along the way.
In the end, when done correctly, real estate can provide financially for your family and give you control over your future and how you spend your time. Plus, the tremendous feeling of accomplishment and knowing that you aren’t relying on employers or the government or someone else to provide for you is true freedom.
But all those things can only happen if you start.
It’s true, real estate investing requires education and it requires experience, but you can gain both along the way.
If you are interested in investing in real estate, but haven’t started yet,
Or
If you’ve done a little investing, but haven’t taken the time to get really educated the way you wanted.
My hope today is to motivate you to get started. Do something. Be honest about what is in your way and make a commitment to overcome it.
The number one regret of successful investors
