I have tried and I have failed! I am sorry to say that there is yet another unconverted. 

In one of my previous posts  https://www.publish0x.com to-tell-or-not-to-tell I was undecided as to whether I should talk about crypto to people or not as I usually get that 'oh your mad look' but I thought that if I am asked I will answer instead of sort of changing the subject. So when my work colleague asked me what I had been up to I cautiously said I had been writing a post for a blog. This gets an excited 'Oh great, what is it about? Then I say crypto and yes I got that look!

They had heard about Bitcoin but their opinion was that it was a made up form of money! I explained that unlike fiat it actually has a limited supply and they can't just decide to make more of it (or print it off willy nilly like governments do) I explained that actually fiat is no longer backed by gold and therefore has no intrinsic value. I also added that printing off all the extra money is what has caused most of the inflation problems we are currently facing.

We talked about research and the fact that I spent months researching before I even bought any crypto, also that I am still learning every day and looking at different things, different alt coins, even exchanges. I explained that even someone who has the odd technical malfunction( How do I add someone on whatsapp???Lol) can actually learn how to do these things and that actually now I find it quite easy and not so daunting. If I can do it, anyone can! We talked about having a ledger to safely store our crypto on. We also talked about safety measures in general with emails and passwords and internet safety.

The topic of the bank being a safer place to keep people's money also arose, well that's it then as I have the perfect answer to that one......well you would think so but even the bank has lost my money and the amount of trouble I am having getting it back is unbelieveable! Then the conversation moved to the governments actually bringing out their own digital currency......

So after a long conversation, the end result was a resounding NO, but I thought I would give it a try anyway. 

Have you managed to show anyone the path to enlightenment? I would love to know in the comments, perhaps my enthusiasm is too much or I just sound like a crazy person I don't know but I thought I would at least try.
