So this was a surprise to me and it may be valuable to one of the dozens of readers that may see this. The Coinbase app is different to the Coinbase website. One of my crypto buddies messaged me that there was some free crypto to be had on Coinbase. I was very recently thinking about how Coinbase hasn't done a Learn & Earn in a very long time. Its been about 6 months. So I do check quite often They had earned about $6 CAD and yoloed it into BONK.
When I checked my Coinbase my learning rewards were all complete.
That is when I hypothesized that the app experience is different from the desktop experience. I know that apps like instagram really throttle the desktop experience to get you to download the app. I image they get more data back you apps then websites. So I got out my burner and loaded up the Coinbase app. I wasn't surprised that there would be a difference between the two platforms, but was blown away by how large the difference between them.
I have been missing out on $80.89 CAD worth of free crypto!
Now this is not purely Earn & Learn like on desktop, the app offers you the ability to earn from Quests. These seem to mostly involve adding some token to some wallet. There is about $50 worth of Quests on the Coinbase Wallet app that all involve depositing ETH into different places to cover the gas price. It seems a little sketchy but I will be working my way through all of the in February.
There were 2 Earn and Leans and 1 Quest that I did manage to complete quickly.
I earned 74.06 VET and 44.1 VARA by answering a few questions.
The one quest I completed was a little more complicated.
Step 1: I had to download the VeWorld wallet.
Step 2: I had to fund my VeWorld wallet with VET tokens. (Good thing I just had earned 74 VET for an Learn and Earn.)
Step 3: Get rewarded.
and it worked. Basically right after the transfer to my VeWorld wallet went through 368 VET hit my Coinbase account. The only bad thing is that I now have 74 VET stuck in my VeWorld wallet. I can't get it out because I don't have enough VTHO to pay the gas. It pretty bullshit and all but guarantees that some amount of the VET token will be unusable.

I did swap out my $17.53 CAD of free crypto in BTC almost right away. But I am annoyed that I have to check in on VeWorld money to see if I can get the tokens out.
This is all to say that the experince offered by the online platform and the app may be vastly different. So check and see you may be missing out on free crypto.
