One of the things I’ve been investigating at Radix is to try and identify the common set of core values and beliefs that members of the community (i.e. token holders) have about the project.
My hypothesis is that, if we can identify the common thread, we can document it and then share it in a way that will let the others who share these values recognize that they have a home, a “tribe” at Radix.
Not everyone is going to want to belong to the Radix tribe and that’s ok. Some will want to be in the Radix tribe exclusively and some will want to be in multiple tribes. The good news is that, any of those is acceptable. Different tribes will have different value orientations.
The more I think about it, the more I realize that the so-called, “Layer 0” of the people, who make up the culture and hence the brand, are not only the bedrock, but the DNA of the project.
Going forward, there will be advanced ways to measure tribal strength in terms not just of numbers, but of passion/intensity/fervor, and growth rate of the tribe.
It may be something as simple as the amount of XRD (the Radix token-NOT financial advice) in a wallet and/or how that has changed over time, but it will have to be objective.
In crypto, the ultimate sign of belief is having skin in (or out) of the game. If you like a project and its values, you will increase the amount of skin you have in the game. If you don’t, you will decrease it.
The more clearly a project articulates what it stands for, the more people can figure out if that’s the tribe to which they’d like to belong.
Of course, investing in crypto is not without risks…
