DAO2DAO Sales

DAO2DAO Sales

tl;dr: it’s the new enterprise sales skillset

I’ve been writing a lot about the emergence of DAOs-Decentralized Autonomous Organizations. These community driven organizations manage and control the resources, including massive crypto-based treasuries that are designed to fund the long-term development of the ecosystem surrounding the network.

These treasuries can be used to fund short-term and long-term activities, but need to be invested and protected.

I wrote the other day about DAO treasury management services, which YAM had offered to DAOs like Sushi Swap.

The $Sushi currency is invested in a variety of vehicles designed to, like any investment portfolio, maximize returns given a pre-set risk profile.

However, as we know, crypto is fraught with risk, which is why, I believe that these assets will need protection in the form of insurance, provided by none other than Nexus Mutual.

That provides value to the DAO and an opportunity to Nexus Mutual.

The question, however, is how does one DAO “sell” a service (like insurance) to another DAO?

There’s no one decision maker. There’s a decentralized group of anonymous voters who must be convinced.

This concept is at the core of our marketing strategy for NXM, but it’s not crystal clear yet, nor is the path well-trodden or worn.

There’s a “hard power” element as in “which members have the most tokens and thus the most votes?”

But there’s also a “soft power” element as in “which members have the most respect?”

Selling to a traditional organization has a clear cut methodology that enterprise sales people have known for years.

Selling to a global DAO that collectively manages hundreds of millions of dollars, if not billions, is a brand new field, but the people (and DAOs) who can figure it out and create a repeatable process are going to thrive in this the DAO-first future.
