As Canadian provinces slowly beginning permitting some businesses and services to reopen from their Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic lockdowns, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced that the Canada-USA border will remain closed to non-essential travel for at least another 30 days, though essential workers crossing the border for work and commercial traffic can still pass.

The Canada-USA border will be closed until at least June 21st, 2020, though officials from both nations confirmed that the opening date may be extended depending on the severity of the pandemic.

According to the Johns Hopkins University, the World Health Organization, and the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as of now, the United States of America has confirmed about 1,500,000 cases of the Covid-19 coronavirus alongside about 90,000 Covid-19-related deaths. Meanwhile, the Canadian government has confirmed 78,488 cases of the virus alongside 5,857 Covid-19-related deaths.
