Police spokespeople in San Salvador, the capital city of El Salvador, announced that 5 people were shot and killed while they were drinking and playing dominoes in a bar while a 6th person working at a junkyard across the street was also shot and killed as he fled when he heard gunfire. Local media sources say that the owner of the bar was among the victims, whose ages ranged from 19 to 63 years-old. Witnesses claim that the attackers entered the bar and opened fire at close range without saying anything before fleeing from the scene.
Police authorities stated that 3 men were involved in the attack, though 1 man has been arrested in connection with the shooting. National Civil Police Director Mauricio Arriaza Chicas also added that the man is a gang member, though the motive behind the attack was not revealed.
