As we step closer to the New Year, with Nowruz just around the corner, I want to say Happy New Year to my fellow citizens and to all who celebrate this beautiful renewal of life, as we call it “Nowruz” in Persian culture.
In truth, I wish to say Happy New Year to everyone. But such words carry more than just tradition—they need hearts filled with excitement, hope, and peace to truly take root.
These days, my world has been touched by a light that flickers in and out, like the golden glow of dawn breaking through a restless night. My hands have found solace in creation, and in that, a new hope has quietly taken shape.
The sea, too, has grown kind, though its shores retreat a little more each day. And my heart trembles at the thought that this endless horizon might one day vanish.
This past year has been one of deep transformation—filled with pain, yet laced with moments of light. It began with hardship, a weight that lingered far too long. But as the days unfolded, light gently made its way through the cracks. The pain never left, but the light remained, persistent, unwavering.
I have learned that when darkness is all there is, even the smallest pain can feel unbearable. But when there is light—even if the pain grows—somehow, we endure.
So, hold on to the golden sun resting on the shore of your safe place, not because storms always pass, but because survival itself is reason enough. And maybe—just maybe—one day, the world will shine a little brighter.
