Getting Free Crypto - For Beginners

By cotton88 | cotton88 | 9 Mar 2021

This article is time-sensitive so some of the advice here may not work for you at the time of reading. Some incentives in crypto apps do expire, just like contests that have an expiration date.

Getting Free Crypto - Begin with Coinbase!
The first place to start would be with the Coinbase App. During the past 3 months, they've had several new crypto currency incentives that simply require you to watch a short clip about a cryptocurrency, answer a few questions about what you learned - and voila - you'll have a few dollars in your Coinbase app in no time.

I realized how easy it was to do and believe me, I was as surprised as you might be at how easy it is. However, the rewards are paid out to a limited number of people and there may be waitlists - so be sure to click the "Earn Rewards" (purple box) within the app after you've set up. Follow all the verification instructions, you know the drill: bank account, drivers license, etc. It's all rote if you've set up a wallet like Atomic.

Then I would recommend moving these to your preferred wallet - as Coinbase's fees are rather high, even on the Coinbase Pro platform (a web based, free platform if you have a Coinbase app). I would probably also not recommend Coinbase Wallet as they may have additional fees or what's called skimming - the inflating of transfer fees. This can easily be observed if you've tried buying, say, Bitcoin on Coinbase. They will give you a far higher price than the market actually asks for Bitcoin!

Getting More Free Crypto - Proton Wallet!
Get the Proton Wallet and try to get it set up. Some of these apps have issues with verification. I had to try a number of times on some, and I believe Proton is no exception. Anyway, Proton has a simple gambling game called Jacks or Better that's available to play online. You scan your wallet QR code, then they'll deposit BTC into your account if you reach 26 credits on a game. You can play 1 time per hour, getting free 10 credits every hour to keep trying.

I have never played Jacks or Better before, but it is a rather simple game. Grab an image from Google of the hands you need to win a round - and do your best. It's rather random and sometimes the game clearly wants you to keep playing by giving an easy round to the player. But much like a Casino, you can end up with 0 credits in no time. The advantage of this game is that you can play it about 24 times per day, cash out about .15+ cents at a time if you get proficient.

I recommend cashing out as soon as you reach 26 credits as that will keep a steady flow of BTC into your Proton wallet, without you feeling burned by reaching some high credit amt (and Satoshis) while losing it in the next 4 turns because of a, well, a rigged game. It pays, just know when to quit while you're ahead!

Let's say you are extremely bored and don't work. You can set a timer for every 1 hr to get on Jacks or Better, play a few rounds and cash out. That's about $1-2 dollars per day, if you win the full 26 credits, cash out without losing it all to greed. That's a decent pay out, and it seems Proton allows you to do this daily.

The other Proton Wallet based app is a quick survey. It is literally the simplest, easiest survey you could ever do. It's 3 choices, one simple question. You answer it and you get paid anywhere from 100 to 400 Satoshis? I'm not exactly certain, as it randomly gives you an amount. You can do this survey every 24 hours.

So in all, Proton Wallet is another excellent, almost pain free and effective way to pad your crypto wallet.
