Bitcoin Spam Snip

Relentless Bitcoin Email Spam - Can It Be Stopped?

By XTRM™ | Cryptopia | 30 Jun 2020

We all get email spam... Some us plain ridiculous, blatant and funny. Some spam however has malicious intent - Bitcoin and most other major crypto tokens have not escaped the clutches of the notorious online scammers. Not heeding warnings, or doing your research, down to just downright knowing what to look for... Could spell disaster for you if one of these Bitcoin Spam emails are opened and answered.

From the humble Bitcoin Spam email with a hundred spelling mistakes offering millions of dollars in Bitcoin in exchange for bank details - to clever multilevel marketing scams and phishing... You 'Spam' folder will almost certainly gave seen multiple offers and invites. Your 'Inbox' folder may not even escape. The important thing to remember is to be vigilant.

if it looks too good to be true, then it generally is too good to be true.

Do your research on any Bitcoin email offering you Bitcoin and Altcoin investment riches. All to often the noob can fall into a scam without much thought... Some scams look very real and have fancy looking websites, many featuring fake celebrity enforcements and claims.

Another general rule to thumb when understanding and recognising a Crypto Scam in you email is... if it looks too good to be true, then it generally is too good to be true.

The statistics are hard to quite gauge an accurate figure on the amount of online Bitcoin Email Scams currently circulating... Some suggestions put the figure at around 1 in 6000 Bitcoin offers from websites are genuine - even if you give or take a few thousands, that type of figure is frightening.

Unfortunately if you do fall victim to these Crypto Email Scams the likelihood of you getting any money back is extremely low in not at all... You could get lucky but it's not that easy - some new Bitcoin Legal Experts claim to be able to find transactions via the Blockchain, but even then there is a huge battle to face to get any return of stolen cryptocurrency.

In short, think, investigate, ask questions... Check for evidence of others being scammed by the same company or service. Check for proof if purchases, transaction legitimacy - seek advice in forums, check for connections to other websites known to be scamming Cryptocurrency Investors.

Vigilance may be the only thing that wins the battle against the Bitcoin Email Scammers... That and setting up countless spam filters - believe me, the spam filters are endless. Best just to ignore any unsolicited Bitcoin Junk Mail in the hope it will eventually go away, unless you absolutely know and use the services.
