So this one may be a little different from what you're used to reading on here. We've all started somewhere and I'm here, right at the bottom, confused and overwhelmed by the sheer amount of terminology and information I've received just in the past few weeks of investing.
Me, I'm a carpenter come cabinet maker. I work with my hands day in, day out. I struggle with technology like you wouldn't believe, my company has only just moved away from designing furniture on the back of a fag packet, to wrapping my head around auto desks fusion 360 design software. Its going well to say the least.
My venture into crypto all started with, what originally seemed a pointless email advertising an cryptocurrency exchange (coinbase). After doing a bit of research and being rather intrigued, I set up an account... which now I understand is called a wallet, yes thats how bad my knowledge is.
There's a section on coinbase to watch a few videos and earn a few USD in certain coins/tokens. I think I ended up with about $33usd worth of various coins (stellar lumens, celo, compound and numeraire) being new to this, I thought this was the best thing since sliced bread.
Doing some more digging, inevitably I came across alot of worthless and ineffective ways of "mining" using a mobile device... cloud mining. I've invested nothing in cloud mining apart from my time and data. So far only having access to what they say is 2kgh/s, I have mined 2.00001 TRX. Id imagine if I tried to withdraw that it would all be eaten up by maintenance fees. I'll continue to mine using cryptoplace.com... because why not, I simply log in now and again and check the balance. I'm sure in a year or so I'll look back and realise there were better ways to spend my time.
So in continuing to he wary of investing any of my savings or companies money into crypto, I decided to explore other ways of potentially earning some small amounts. I discovered a few cloud mining apps of coins or tokens that are still in beta phases like reflex, pi and Eagle network. Again... all I've invested is my time into these apps with the hope that one day, ill be able to withdraw some small amount of value from them. But, who knows... you guys reading this most likely do know... I think I know what the answer is.
I've also stumbled across brave.com, and Internet browser that is a little bit like this site, publish0x. Its a browser that blocks adds and trackers, and rewards you in BAT. Its measured in attention and paid out monthly in small amounts. It also allows you to tip users that are brave verified.
I'll leave this here for now. I understand that the majority of you will already know all of this. I'm just hoping that this post falls into tha gaze of a few readers who are also in my position, if thats you, don't take what I've written as advice, wait for a few posts down the line on this blog. Let me make the mistakes and ill report back with my findings.
Enjoy... stay frosty
