Mining Banano Coin With Your Web Browser

In my never ending quest on researching which cryptocurrency coins I could be mining, I am also continuously discovering new ways these coins may be mined. Much to my surprise, cryptocurrency can now be mined simply by opening a web browser. I'm unaware how many coins may be mined using this method, however one coin I started to mine with my browser is Banano.

What is Banano?

Banano seems to be a meme coin and I'm really not convinced it will actually amount to anything like Bitcoin or Ethereum, however it has become addicting to mine simply because it is so easy to do so. You can mine several Banano coins a day, and the transfer to your online Banano wallet is free and (almost) instant. Valued at only fractions of a penny today as I write this, one has to wonder what the future of the coin's value has in store.

How Does it Work?

Essentially I simply load up a browser window and visit the Banano Powerplant Website. I find Microsoft Edge actually works better than Mozilla Firefox for this, and I have yet to try Google Chrome.

Once here you are able to immediately mine Banano by adding your Banano wallet address (then click the 'open miner page button') and then hitting the start button. You may dabble with the number of threads being used or adjust the speed at which you mine, however I would recommend just leaving this alone. I tried cranking this up a few times and crashed my computer in about five seconds. The number of coins you have mined and the rate at which you are mining them will be displayed in the tables at the top of the page.

Where Can I Download a Banano Wallet?

You may withdraw coins from browser to wallet twice daily, so long as your balance exceeds at least two Banano (which should only take a few hours). The official mobile wallet for Banano is Kalium. I find it very easy to use and to be honest, I wish all wallet GUIs looked this cool.

Concluding

To summarize, I'll probably mine Banano for a few weeks/months as a side project on a second PC. I really have nothing to lose and if Banano rises in value in the future then maybe I'll have earned myself a few hundred dollars. The Banano Powerplant currently claims to be paying out at a rate of 2X daily. I normally have my PCs fired up and running all day, every day anyhow so I might as well open up a browser window and mine some Banano coins in the background when my system resources are otherwise idle.

Good luck and happy mining!
