Some of these cryptocurrencies were highly anticipated while others have people scratching their heads. Let's take a closer look.
Chainlink - This is a cult favorite oracle created to connect smart contracts across blockchains. Developed by Sergey Nazarov, it is the leading blockchain oracle that has been widely adopted along with strategic partnerships that dwarf its competitors. The fact that Grayscale were looking to create a investment trust for it was discovered after a filing for “Grayscale Chainlink Trust (LINK)” was incorporated last month in Delaware. This beforehand warning is reflected in the way the market reacted to the news with less movement than the other prospects.
Basic Attention Token- This token is also a favorite among many in the cryptocurrency community and has also seen itself become one of the biggest coins in DeFi for a short period of time. It is the token used to reward Brave web browser users when they view ads on the application. It has already seen itself propel to the forefront of cryptocurrency disruption in the bigger technology picture so far and has much promise yet. It saw a monster move on the news.
Decentraland- Have you ever wanted to own a piece of property in digital real estate? Well here's your opportunity with the most developed virtual reality experience on the web which incorporates blockchain technology at its foundation. This world, constructed on ethereum offers everything from crypto gaming to NFT exploration. While it has received a fair amount of exposure to crypto traders recently the announcement sparked a 25% green candle.
Filecoin- The initial breakthrough into mainstream crypto for this burgeoning coin was the abrupt announcement of its listing on Coinbase. This move surprised traders which were in awe of this unexpected decision. It is basically a P2P decentralised file storage network which uses the native FIL to reward those participating in storage. From lows hovering around 50$, within 48hrs it was trading around $70.
Livepeer- Last but most certainly not least was the surprise listing of the 'Grayscale® Livepeer Trust' which definitely stood out as a sore thumb among the other four cryptocurrencies announced. It is a protocol for decentralised video streaming which seeks to utilize GPUs which are already mining to help with transcoding live video. No matter what anyone says this was certainly not a coin that were on many radars and as of today it is still not listed on any of the major crypto exchanges. This was perfect for its moon mission that it embarked on when the announcement broke. Almost immediately it broke its ATH and was up over 100%.
