Coulda Been Better. By a lot.

Let me kick this off by saying political views have nothing to do with this review.
Matter of fact, George Floyd was murdered.
America has a serious systemic racism issue. Like a parasite, it won't go away, and we have to continue to fight it.
Alright, with that out of the way, this short film/movie fuckin....sucked. Ugh. It was just a pain to watch.
The concept is decent enough. Overdone, sure, but given how pressing of an issue police brutality has become...the movie had a real chance.
And then Joey Badass started "acting."
And then the one night stand who was so forgettable I cannot recall her name...then she started "acting."
Both of their performances were cringeworthy from the first ten minutes, and didn't really get any better. At all.
The cop was annoyingly one-sided and predictable. Every scene unfolded exactly how you'd expect, and the "punchline" is seen from a mile away.
I completely understand the social commentary the film tried to make. And as a white person in America, I could never even come close to grasping what it's like to struggle as a black man in America. BUT. For fucks sake. The film does not give you ANY room for digestion. You interpret nothing. You come away from the movie with no new angle on racism, no newfound perspective. Nothing. You basically just sat and watched a black man die over and over, at the hands of the same racist piece of shit cop. They could've added some nuance, suckered you in with sympathy for the cop maybe. Then it packs more of a punch when you realize he's still a racist murderer. No, this dude is just a mindless racist freak. For the entire film.
Again, I understand some of what the film is trying to say. Racism and abuse is inescapable. But that truth would've come across much more poignantly and impact-fully had the film been written with....any sort of original thought.
Overall, fuck this movie. Waste of my time. 4/10.
