The morning light creeps in,
And I am groggy still,
A sluggish start, An unfulfilled thrill.
I reach for the pot, But it's empty, oh woe,
No coffee to be found, A lamentable show.
The dark brew is my lifeline, My daily dose of cheer,
But without it, my mood dips, And I am filled with fear.
The day stretches out before me, A bleak and endless chore,
For how can I face it, Without my morning pour?
The aroma, the taste, The jolt to my brain, Without it,
I am lost, And my mood is inane.
So I trudge on, With a heavy heart,
For without my coffee, Life feels like it's falling apart.
But I know in a few hours, I'll have my cup in hand,
And the world will be brighter,
With my coffee to stand.
