A French youtuber I follow decided to start a contest for his subscribers during the quarantine/lockdown here in France. The idea was to create a video, between 45 seconds and 2 minutes, within the place you're quarantined in, with the style and topic being completely up to us.
I decided to challenge myself and do something I'm not used to. So I decided to make a video shot from one, static, angle, but without it being too boring or repetitive, and that would tell a story that's easily understandable and that makes sense, even without dialogue.
I went with a CCTV/security camera look, and to get that angle, I shot the whole thing with the DJI Osmo Action camera sitting on top of a door frame.
The story I chose to tell is fairly simple, a guy (me) wakes up, starts teleworking and quickly gives up, and then decides to spend his day doing a bunch of random activities, all in one single room.
It took me 45 minutes to film everything, and a handful of hours of editing. The hardest part was trying to find a good rhythm and keeping it throughout the video. The trickiest part was simulating evening and night at the end even though I shot everything in the morning in direct sunlight.
That being said, here's what I came up with:
Let me know what you think of it!
