I got involved in cryptocurrency in the spring of 2022. What a ride so far. I have been documenting my thoughts along the way on this site. I have covered my thoughts on what I have learned, some of the cryptocurrencies I have invested in or interest in, and some of the legal issues stemming from problematic behavior by nefarious actors in the sector.
Since I have started learning about cryptocurrency, and then investing in some of the coins and tokens. I have been able to maintain a net EVEN in my investments during that time as the market has continuously gone down and lost value overall. Now, that statement is a bit of skewed thinking on my part. The only reason I was able to stay even was that I had supplemented what I invested in from my day to day job with earning free cryptocurrency through various means.
Now, in the past week or so, my investment had gone up as most have. There are reports all over the place that "experts" in cryptocurrency are calling this the end of crypto winter. I am not sure about this, but I wonder about it. I wrote in January of 2023 that I believed the end of the crypto winter would come around August 2023. I was wrong!
Now, I think that the end of crypto winter may be here. It seems to be the beginning of the end of crypto winter with a long and slow journey into new ATH's for a lot of cryptocurrencies.
Again, I wrote about this once before on this site. I laugh at my initial response to prices rising for the cryptocurrencies I have invested in. My first thought is "oh no" I won't be able to buy at those prices anymore, that my investment will not be as good as it was last week. I laugh because a year or more ago, I was upset when prices continued to fall. I mean, I was losing value. Then I remembered something important in my own personal investment strategy. I don't worry about the prices while I hold, Only when I sell. That means, the more I can buy at lower prices, the better I can do when I sell at higher prices. I mean, in my 401k, the money I have invested in over the past year will earn more ROI than when the market was booming. It just does not feel as good. I am ensuring that I am not spending more than I can afford to lose, as there is no guarantee that cryptocurrencies will be around in the future. I believe they will, but I can't prove that. So, I am more cautious than I want to be at times, and at times more risky than I want to be.
I am enjoying the hell out of this journey, I hope the crypto winter is ending. However, to be fully honest, I would not mind getting a little more time with low prices before the market goes on a nice bull run.
