Apparently someone from the SEC stated that the will pursue more charges against cryptocurrency exhanges. Here is where I came across the information: https://www.coindesk.com/policy/2023/09/19/us-secs-crypto-enforcement-chief-warns-more-charges-coming-to-exchanges-defi/
On the one hand, this is not surprising. I mean, come on. Once FTX collapsed and the fraud was detected, the SEC had egg on it's face and now need to try and backtrack and "save face" so to speak.
On the other hand, As the esteemed American President Biden would say "come on man." Not to be mistaken for the book by Joe Concha https://www.amazon.com/Come-Man-Terrible-Horrible-Presidency/dp/0063276127
I am writing about this because I think it foretells another dip in the overall crypto market. This can lead to panic, or it can lead to smart investing. I read an article on this site, Publsih0x yesterday that talked about how the writer's confidence is shaken after something like four years of being involved and investing in cryptocurrency. There is nothing to be shaken about, you either believe in it, or you don't. I think there is tremendous opportunity at this time, and may weirdly, I am enjoying slowly and safely (using resource I can afford to lose, but don't want to) gaining more and more cryptocurrency through my own hard earned fait currency as well as free crypt from staking and game applications.
The SEC is currently the gift that keeps on giving, at least in terms of artificially low crypto prices. Thank you.
In the long run, this will all be settled, and the market will boom like no other. At some point there will not be the two or four year crypto cycle. There will just be mainstream (to some of your dismay) cryptocurrency embedded in society.
Again, I believe most cryptocurrency will be deemed commodities in the long run. The judge in the XRP case got it right!
