During my trip in Japan, I realised one important thing. The Japanese take into account the location and timing when they construct something.

Just what do I mean? Take the Enoshima Aquarium for example. For me, the dolphin show won’t stand out from other similar shows at other aquariums if not for the setting sun that cast warm golden rays over the sea at 4ish.

The interplay of colours added to the nuance and texture of the dolphin show. It imbued it with a warm and fuzzy feeling and tugged at my heartstrings.

Another brilliant example would be the Railway Museum in Saitama. Its strategic location is a stroke of genius. On the left hand side, visitors can observe local trains whizzing by. On the right hand side, they can admire Shinkansen trains zooming past. What a natural way to gain first-hand insights into the magnificence of Japan’s transport system.
