Singapore is an island state, located on a small area. However, it offers a lot of attractions accumulated in a small area, well-connected and available at reasonable prices (well, maybe not all of them).

Singapur to państwo wyspa, położone na niezbyt wielkiej powierzchni. Oferuje jednak sporo atrakcji skumulowanych na małym obszarze, do tego świetnie skomunikowanych i dostępnych w rozsądnych cenach (no może nie wszystkie).

Of course, the two most famous landmarks of Singapore are the amazing hotel with a boat-shaped platform on top of the 55-meter Marina Bay Sands.

Oczywiście dwie najbardziej znane, stanowiące wizytówkę Singapuru to niesamowity hotel z platformą w kształcie łodzi na jego szczycie 55 metrowego Marina Bay Sands.

The second attraction is the Art Science Museum, which is housed in a building resembling a lotus flower. There are, of course, several other attractions worthy of attention as well.

Drugą atrakcją jest natomiast Art Science Museum, ktore mieści się w budowli przypominającej swym kształtem kwiat lotosu. Jest jeszcze oczywiście kilka innych atrakcji również godnych uwagi.

Marina Bay Sands is it worth it?

Marina Bay Sands is a hotel consisting of 3 skyscrapers with 55 floors each, and the construction of a 4th skyscraper is planned, which is expected to cost over USD 4.5 billion. At the top of this hotel, at 200 meters above sea level, there is a boat-shaped garden with a 150 m long infinity pool, several hundred trees, bars and restaurants.

Na szczycie tego hotelu na wysokości 200 metrów znajduje się ogród w kształcie łodzi, z basenem typu "infinity"o długości 150 m, gdzie rośnie kilkaset drzew, znajdują się bary i restauracje.

The entire platform is 340 meters long and can accommodate almost four thousand people. Unfortunately, the attraction itself is not the cheapest, because the cheapest hotel accommodation costs about USD 250, which was quite a lot for our budget, especially since Singapore was the first place from which we started our adventure on this trip. Of course, you can use the hotel restaurants located in individual buildings free of charge, but the swimming pool at the top is reserved only for hotel guests.

Cała platforma ma długość 340 metrów i może pomieścić prawie cztery tysiące osób. Niestety sama atrakcja nie należy do najtańszych, bo najtańszy nocleg w hotelu kosztuje około 250 USD, co przy naszym budżecie było dość dużą kwotą, tym bardziej, że Singapur był pierwszym miejscem od którego zaczynaliśmy przygodę w tej podróży. Oczywiście, można bezpłatnie skorzystać z restauracjo hotelowych umieszonych w poszczególnych budynkach, jednak basen na samej górze zarezerwowany jest tylko i wyłącznie dla gości hotelowych.

But Singapore is not just dead cold buildings. Walking among skyscrapers, we can often come across some works of street art.

Ale Singapur to nie tylko martwe zimne budynki. Spacerując wśród wieżowców, często możemy natknąć się na jakieś dzieła sztuki ulicznej.

Almost me Manhattan

When you walk a little far from the center, you get the impression that this is not Singapore, but a district of New York - Manhattan

Gdy spaceruje się trochę w oddali od centrum, ma się wrażenie, że to nie jest Singapur, tylko dzielnica Nowego Yorku - Manhattan

ArtScience Museum

There are two other structures not far from the infamous rooftop boat hotel. The first is a luxury fashion house - Louis Vuitton. The second, more interesting, is the ArtScience Museum, which is shaped like a lotus flower. I don't know why, but my first association was the Sydney Opera House in Australia.

Niedaleko osławionego hotelu z łodzią na dachu znajdują się dwie inne budowle. Pierwsza z nich to luksusowy dom mody - Louis Vuitton. Druga natomiast, bardziej interesująca to ArtScience Museum, która kształtem przypomina kwiat lotosu. Nie wiem dlaczego, ale moje pierwsze skojarzenie to była Opera w Sydney w Australii.

What impressed me? Restrictions for cyclists. Yes, I know, I ride a bike a lot myself, but this speed limit of 10 km/h in busy places is a great idea, worth transferring to our soil.

Co mi zaimponowało? Ograniczenia dla rowerzystów. Tak, wiem, sam bardzo dużo jeżdżę na rowerze, ale to ograniczenie prędkości do 10km/h w miejscach ruchliwych jest świetnym pomysłem, godnym przeniesienia na nasz grunt.
