Beautiful Luray Caverns

Luray Caverns is a cave system located in Luray in Virginia, USA, just on the outskirts of Shenandoah National Park. It has attracted many visitors since its discovery in 1878. There are many beautiful stalactites and stalagmites formation that makes it one of the places that should be in your bucket list.

There is a spring of water in the caverns which accumulates into a small pond. The water is so still that it gives it a mirror-like appearance and the reflection of stalactites can be clearly seen.

Saracen's tent is a beautiful stalactite formation and is considered to be the most well formed draperies formation.

Totem Poles

Many stalactite and stalagmite formations give an impression of beautiful area full of totem poles.

Bride and Groom

Bride and Groom are two intertwined columns. They are at the center of a giant hall which gives an impression of a bride and a groom enjoying their first dance.

Pluto's ghost

Pluto's ghost is a column named after Pluto, roman god of underworld and a ghost because it is pure white in color and seems to be visible from many areas of the cavern.

This room has several formations over a gradual slope which gives it a look of an amphitheater seating.

The Lantern is a translucent flowstone formation which gives an impression of lantern.

A beautiful natural formation which looks like two fried eggs with sunny side up.

Wishing Well

This is another accumulation of the natural spring water and is deep enough to form a well. You can see lot of glittering coins that people have threw in hoping that their wish will come true.
