1. Bitcoin will lose its power.
Please listen before hanging me on this one. I think BitCoin will return to its previous value, maybe even more. As far as know BTC is still most of the capitalisation of the whole cryptocurrencies market. My feeling is that this year other coins will start gaining more value than it so the overall percentage will drop. I do not think there is anything bad in this.
2. Etherium will not deliver Proof-of-stake
As we all know Etherium has been trying to get its Proof-of-stake approach for the past year or more. After a current change in the naming and approach stragety, I think that they will deploy the dual proof-of network. I mean they will add PoS but will keep Pow working unchanged. This approach allowed them to build up the validation node and with time will allow them to block the proof-of-work completely.
3. BSC/Solana/Polygon/* will dominate Etherium
As I said in the previous point, I do not think Etherium will sort out its gas fees and as a result, already existing and new networks will still attack the position of Etherium. Some time ago ETH had a great start. It was popular with smart contracts (I think it was the first smart contract at all), but now we have other networks with equally good contracts and with lower gas fees. I am not sure who will be a winner I am sure there will be Polygon and BSC in the top 3.
4. More scams and rug pulls
We all learn how to detect a potential scam, and we as a collective are getting better at it. The sad news is that potential scammers are also learning and they also getting better. Unfortunately, even on highly regulated markets like stock, scams happened so there is only little of what could be done about it.
5. Polkadot will deliver more but stay kind of niche
I like Polkadot, I do like their idea and approach to mixing the various blockchains. But I think that took too much time to deliver it and now they are irrelevant. There are too many similar activities delivered and what they propose is not so revolutionary anymore.
7. The gaming world will embrace NFT
Ass much as I do not like NFT, I think it is here to stay. What is more, we will see from AAA games embracing it. I will not be surprised if NFT would replace the loot-boxes.
8. Web 3.0 will stay where it is
I have seen some arguments that Web 3.0 will replace Web 2.0 and I think it is not true. There are some cases for this to happen but for most cases, it is not required or even pointless. Similar to how Web 2.0 did not replace good old websites in all of the uses.
9. Governments continue to harras crypto
We already can see the attempts of various governments trying to bun or control crypto. Most of their attempts are not working very well or at all. I think that we will get better laws and some degree of control over the crypto world, and please do not understand me wrong but I do not mind a little bit of oversight. I would love to see all the influencers selling rug pull punished for what they do.
10. We will get more Metaverses
As much I do not understand the idea of Metaverse, no when Facebook, I mean Meta proposed one for masses, I think it will become the next NFT hot thing in Crypto world.
