Can Every Path Lead to God?

By Deejo | Thinking-Out-Loud | 5 Sep 2025

Can every path really lead to God? It sounds comforting—but is it true? Many people believe it is. If that were true, then we could do whatever we want, choose whichever religion we want, and we could still go to heaven. Even if that were true, I've noticed that most religions have a god that is distant and uncaring. Some even have gods that are man-made. I’ve always wondered how someone could make a statue, then turn around and worship it. That seems, to me, like worshiping something of our own creation, or some might say, worshiping themselves. I am not saying this to make fun of anyone. personally, I prefer a personal loving god.

Since I have believed in the Bible my whole life. You may think I am not an objective thinker. I only want the truth, and the way I believe today is much different from what I believed as a child. However, I do still believe the Bible. I enjoy having a relationship with the loving God that created me. I do have a personal relationship with Yeshua (Jesus), and I wholly believe in Him; that He suffered, died, and rose again for me (and anyone who believes in Him).

If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord,
and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead,
you will be saved;
Romans 10:9

I know the idea that a man could also be God is hard for some people to grasp. If you’re someone who wants evidence instead of just belief, here’s a resource that is very impactful. There is a book that I would recommend: The Case for Christ: A Journalist's Personal Investigation of the Evidence for Jesus. This is Lee Strobel's journey to prove Christianity a lie. For those who don't want to read it, there is also a movie made from the book. Whether you believe it or not, I think it's interesting.

The story shows many aspects of Jesus that Strobel tries to disprove. Here are some questions that were addressed:

Are the manuscripts reliable?
Did Jesus really die?
Did he really raise from the dead or was it hallucinations?
Are faith and reason enemies?

In addition to this evidence, I heard something that gave me pause. It was a statement I heard the other day from Pastor Bill Johnson of Bethel Church in Redding, California. He said...

"If there are many roads that take you to God, then He was cruel in requiring Jesus to suffer and die the way He did. It was required because it was the only possible solution for the sin problem.”

Wow, what a profound thought. That reminded me that Yeshua's sacrifice wasn’t needless or cruel—it was love. And that’s why I believe He truly is the only way. That realization led me to another thought…

If the Bible is not true, then none of this really matters. But if it is true, there are eternal consequences we can’t afford to ignore.

Thank you for reading.
