"Every man knows that his highest purpose in life cannot be reduced to a particular relationship. If a man prioritizes his relationship over his highest purpose, he weakens himself, serves the universe, and deprives his wife of an authentic man who can offer her a full presence. Face it, if you had to choose one or the other, the perfect intimate relationship or the achievement of your highest goal, you would choose to achieve your goal." David Deida.
This is central to staying focused on ourselves but more importantly to staying fulfilled as a man and therefore attracting the right people and abundance into our lives.
The majority of men unfortunately have fallen into a mindset where they will put women and the temptation they represent before their life mission. It's a form of instant gratification and most importantly it's a way for them to succumb to distraction and escape their responsibilities. When you are a man and you must pursue your life purpose above all else to build a prosperous and stable future, this is where you must not flinch and put women before your life purpose. Again at this point they are only distractions and if they are too present they corrupt your ability to build a future for yourself but also potentially for her. And it's up to you to regulate that and express the fact that you are on your way and give them time once the work to be done is really and well done.
"Your mission is your priority. If you don't know your mission and you haven't aligned your life with it, your heart will feel empty."
"Tell your wife that you love her, but you can't deny the needs of your heart. Tell her that you will spend 30 minutes (or a specific amount of time) with her giving her absolute attention and full presence but then you will have to return to your mission."
In short, it is important to be balanced as a man, to put our personal fulfillment first and then be totally available for the ones we love or wish to cherish. Our attention must be limited and valuable.
