Anonymous Individual that Represents Satoshi Nakamoto in Guy Fawkes Mask in Darkness

Preamble

Ever since I learned of Bitcoin, I have been fascinated with one particular aspect of it. The founder. Satoshi Nakamoto will go down as one of the most mysterious figures in history. That is, if their identity remains a secret. The purpose of the Satoshi Series is to learn more about who Satoshi was. I believe it is important to know the person behind the greatest innovation since the internet. Especially because this invention is highly controversial in nature. I've read a a decent amount about Satoshi over the years, but never the complete history of their time in the light. There are no shortage of mysterious aspect to the story of Satoshi Nakamoto. From their billion dollar bitcoin fortune they haven't touched, to the lengths they went to protect their identity.

The Goals of the Satoshi Series

The Satoshi Series is supposed to enlighten me on two aspects of Satoshi.

1. Their wishes for the future of Bitcoin

2. The type of person/people Satoshi Nakamoto was/is

My Current Opinion on the Identity of Satoshi

There has been plenty of speculation as to the identity of Satoshi. They could be a man, a woman, or anything in between. They could be an individual, or a group as large as 3. They could belong to any race of people on this planet. I think it is really important that we think of Satoshi Nakamoto as ambiguously as we possibly can. The ambiguity behind the identity of Satoshi aids in the narrative that Bitcoin is the peoples currency. It is important that people are able to see themselves in the money that they use. Therefore I believe that it is important to not apply a gender or quantity to Satoshi, as they could be any one of us, or all of us. To know Satoshi would mean that they are the leader, and thus a centralized aspect of Bitcoin. In order for Bitcoin to be as decentralized, and therefore secure as possible, Satoshi must remain anonymous, and never touch their Bitcoin.

The Future of Bitcoin

There has been much dispute on what the future of Bitcoin should look like. One dispute actually led to a split in the chain. In 2017, the debate on the future of Bitcoin resulted in the existence of two separate and distinct versions of Bitcoin. There is Bitcoin Core, and Bitcoin Cash. It is hard to say whether or not Satoshi Nakamoto would have ever wanted this. Bitcoin is about community, and adopting something greater than oneself. One of the themes explored in the Satoshi Series will be what intent Satoshi had for the future of Bitcoin. Can we even know what their intentions may have been?

The Type of Person

It is important to know the qualities of this individual. I will refer back to my earlier assertion that it is important that people are able to see themselves in Satoshi. The idea of Satoshi Nakamoto doesn't work if we put them on a pedestal. It only works if we recognize that Satoshi is a human. Not a god. Satoshi must have the ability to make mistakes, otherwise they are not human. Humanizing Satoshi, is Peoplizing Satoshi. The more we discover the qualities of Satoshi the more people all around the world will resonate with them. Satoshi must have the ability to be angry, or frustration, as well as cunning, and intelligent. At the same time, we must recognize that there are hero like elements to Satoshi. There is something bold, courageous, and strategic about keeping your identity a secret, and not touching billions of dollars.

About the Author

In an effort to state my bias, I believe it is important for the reader to know certain contextual pieces of information about me, the author.

I am a person who wants there to be an answer to many of the problems that the human race is facing. I've decided that fixing money, is one massively beneficial thing that I personally can do to help the world be a better place. I live in Canada, and I went to university and got my degree in Computer Science. I got into Bitcoin in 2015, and I haven't looked back. There is no doubt in my mind, that if the people of the world manage to adopt a completely sovereign cryptocurrency, there is the potential to completely bypass governmental institutions in tackling the other large problems that are plaguing the human race. My main conviction is that money is a belief system. Money only works when enough people are on board applying value to something inherently meaningless and valueless. Whatever cryptocurrency best installs the belief system of money, is the one that will be the dominant cryptocurrency. I believe there is a place in this world for many cryptocurrencies. However, there will always be one that best resonates, and adheres to the values of the masses. I am here to help identify and get behind whichever one of the cryptocurrencies best fits that description. My current opinion, is that is Bitcoin.

The Mission of the Author

I am on a mission to educate as many people as I possibly can on the benefits of switching to a sovereign currency. This needs to happen on a global scale, as soon as possible.

The Satoshi Series
The Satoshi Series

This is a series of articles that covers the collection of notes, and messages sent by Satoshi Nakamoto. The collection of notes will be provided by the Satoshi Nakamoto Institute. To the best of my ability, I will cover the articles as they appear chronologically. That is, in order. The intention of this series is to discover the intentions of the entity Satoshi Nakamoto as they pertain to the overall vision of Bitcoin.
