Everything You Missed (And Didn't) From ETHDenver

By TheWriteVictor | The World of Crypto | 18 Feb 2022

In case you've never heard of ETHDenver, it is the ETH event to end all ETH events. It's 2 weeks' worth of events and activities taking place in Denver, Colorado with tons of notable members from the crypto community showing up to flex their stuff. We're talking sponsors like Metamask, Polygon, Algorand, Harmony, Uniswap, Chainlink, Filecoin and CoinTelegraph (seriously, their sponsor list is half their website.) Also, did I mention that it's free and they livestream just about all the content from all six of their stages, and even if it's not livestreamed it's up on their Youtube channel?

So many videos

If you were to look at the event schedule for ETHDenver, you probably wouldn't even know where to start. Don't worry, professional crypto journalists are overwhelmed as well. It's jam-packed with just about everything crypto; it's got stuff for developers, for coders, for project managers, for newbies, for investors, for gamers, for entrepreneurs--it's got it all!

Calling itself the first event-based DAO in the world, ETHDenver can boast some big players in the crypto space, as well as governments and businesses. This year featured Etherum co-founder, Vitalik Buterin, and his ongoing pursuit to be a public intellectual.

So, what's going down over in Denver? Well, like I said, just about everything. In the 2 weeks the event has been active, they've posted 182 videos to their Youtube channel. 182! I mean... there's your free crypto college degree right there!

Not going to lie to you, a lot of the videos are for professionals in the crypto space. Devs and managers and whatnot. But there are plenty of showcase events to browse, like the talk Money Streaming 101: Working with Programmable Cashflows by Samuel Flamini and Francesco Renzi or this really interesting one by Robby Greenfield, Leveraging DeFi to Close Agriculture Financing Gaps.

Looking for fireside chats with your favorite blockchain team? Bounties? Lectures? It's all there. Heck, the whole first week of the event was BUIDLweek, just for BUIDLers. You can watch the coding boot camp style videos from the whole week on their Youtube.

Not to mention that plenty of teams and companies who were at the event still put on private streams for their discords or Twitter spaces. Defi Kingdoms, Star Atlas, Polygon, Solana all had shows both for the event and for their own communities. So if you don't see the video you're looking for on ETHDenver's Youtube page, and you know that team/group was there making videos, then perhaps check their Twitter or Youtube instead.

Livestream from ETHDenver

So what did you really miss from ETHDenver? Well, in-person connections are more valuable than you may realize. Thinking back on the few conventions or conferences I've attended, I always walked away with a larger network of professional and personal connections that benefited my career and life. There are also tons of swag, a DJ room, in-person-only gatherings, and great food. It's also Colorado, so there's maybe some extra green fun to be had while you're at it...
The only thing you're really, really missing out on is their 3 day retreat at the end of the event. It's held in Breckenridge, Colorado, and it's just for R&R. I imagine that's where the REAL connections are being made, actual fireside chats between some fat cats in the crypto biz sphere. But I guess I won't know, nestled in an entirely different set of mountains as I am.

ETHDenver, though young, is listed as one of the biggest crypto events in the world. I'll say that again, IN THE WORLD. And it's freaking free, guys! By the time they're actually done presenting everything this weekend, there'll be over 200 videos on their Youtube channel just from this event. Go check it out! Put the playback speed on 1.25 or 1.50 and ride with it. A lot of videos are less than 30 mins, so the knowledge is condensed and right to the good stuff.

Do yourself a favor and make a notice to sign up early for next year's ETHDenver, as it's sure to once again kick off the year for crypto peeps. The next major crypto event is probably Consensus in Houston, Texas in June. It's hosted by the crypto news site, Coindesk, and get this, the cheapest tickets are $900 and you don't have full access to the event. Plus, they definitely won't be livestreaming and posting on Youtube. So get your knowledge from ETHDenver now, people.
