CFTC moves to dismiss CME lawsuit:

The CFTC filed to toss CME’s suit over crypto perpetual futures, calling it “much ado about nothing” and arguing CME lacks standing any registered DCM (including CME) can list similar contracts, so alleged harm is “self‑inflicted.”

CME must file its opposition by Oct. 2, the CFTC requested an oral hearing.

NSA shifts to “neutral” on CLARITY Act:

The National Sheriffs’ Association dropped its opposition to the crypto market structure bill, citing extensive work by Congress and stakeholders.

It had previously warned that mixer exemptions could hinder tracing and victim recovery.

A Senate cloture vote is set for Sept. 15, regulators say they’ll move on crypto rules even if CLARITY stalls.

Bitcoin jumps above $81K:

$BTC rallied as U.S. rates fell and the dollar weakened, with markets now eyeing next week’s inflation data more than Friday’s jobs report for Fed cues.

A longtime Fed watcher says the Sept. 16 decision may come down to a near 6–5–1 split, with former Chair Jerome Powell as the potential tie breaker if he weighs in.

U.S. adds 162K jobs in August:

Nonfarm payrolls crushed expectations (162K vs 56K), unemployment steady at 4.1%.

Markets reacted with BTC −2% below $80K, 10Y yield +3.3bp to 4.80%, 2Y +7bp to 4.40%.

The data bolsters hawks, but next Friday’s August CPI is seen as the key for the Fed’s Sept. 16 rate decision.

AMC CEO blasts Robinhood over tokenized shares:

Adam Aron said AMC has “no connection” to Robinhood’s AMC stock token and “doesn't condone it,” calling the move “contemptible” and vowing to consult securities counsel.

Robinhood’s tokens are derivatives that track U.S equities without granting ownership of the underlying shares echoing OpenAI’s 2025 warning about unauthorized tokenized equity exposure.

AMC Sells 8.5 Million Shares To Investment Group, As Meme Traders Continue Effort To Rally Stock

AMC vs Robinhood escalates:

AMC CEO Adam Aron demanded Robinhood halt trading of AMC “stock tokens,” calling them synthetic equity that could undermine capital raising and deny shareholder rights, and said he’ll raise it with the SEC.

Robinhood’s Dan Gallagher and CEO Vlad Tenev pushed back: “We stand behind Stock Tokens.” The tokens are derivatives (not registered shares) and not available to U.S. customers.

Bitcoin’s gains cluster in a few days:

A historical look (2010–2026) shows most of BTC’s annual returns come from a tiny fraction of trading days, removing the 5–10 best days often flips winning years into losses (e.g., 2019: +94% → −40% without the top 10).

That makes timing brutal “time in the market” beats “timing the market.”

Volatility has also declined, easing the penalty for missing spikes.
