Just snatching some time between playing pieces for a Christmas recording!
Today, we were supposed to have concerts at the church which our home base. In exchange for being able to use the church for recordings and rehearsals, we provide music for some of the Sunday services (roughly one per couple months) and also present a series of short form concerts.
Originally this Sunday we were supposed to present a double run of the same concert. This was due to the limited numbers of people that are allowed to attend a public gathering because of the coronavirus restrictions.
Sadly, this week, the Netherlands moved to stricter regulations as the virus was running out of control again. This meant that all concerts with audiences would be cancelled.

We managed to reach a different arrangement with the church where ee could still fulfill our obligations. We would record (audio and visual) a concert to present. A sort of Christmas Baroque themed concert with pieces from Buxtehude and Corelli in addition to a host of lesser known composers.
The pastor of the church was also recording some poems and lessons to intersperse within the music. So... That's how I'm (and one of my violins!) spending the day today! Playing lots of nice music with nice colleagues.... a nice way to finish the year with some music after such a disastrous year for musicians!
