Intelligence - Artificial or Organic - will it matter in a 100 years ?!

By CutterMutter | The Future is here ! | 28 Dec 2019

If we ignore the Organic or Artificial bias, Intelligence is ...well....Intelligence. Science more or less understands the human Brain from a biological aspect - but has very little clue about the Mind. My guess is that the human brain gave rise to the Mind once the neuron density and their interconnections crossed a certain threshold and gave rise to quantum effects - and those are entirely unpredictable ( and unknowable - until wave functions collapse ) and largely what makes us 'human' with all our emotions and irrationality. Most animals - with their lesser brains - behave very logically as per a set formula - survive, eat, mate - period. Only us humans who go about climbing mountains, solving mysteries, building empires or committing suicide - never animals !

The way Computers are going, there will come a point where they stop being binary and start to have multiple states instead of just 0 & 1 ( Quantum computers with their qubits instead of just bits — are already starting to happen ). And that will be the start of when Computers will begin to exhibit emotions and independent behavior - much like humans do. That this intelligence will be artificial and siliconic in nature instead of being organic and that it took just a 100 years to evolve instead of billions of years - will become just a moot point - coz by then there will be so many artificial implants and enhancements in humans that it will be difficult to demarcate a clear line between Natural and Artificial !

This is a bit of wild shooting in the dark but kind of makes sense to me going by first principles 😊
