About Guinevere: The origin of this Celtic triple goddess has deep roots dating back to Arthurian times, when she was known as Gwenhwyfar. In its original form, her name meant "the white one" or "white ghost", and she was a powerful goddess invoked both for fertility and to act as a bridge that connected the dead with the plane of the afterlife. She became Guinevere in the time of Avalon, Glastonbury and King Arthur. To become king, Arthur had to mix with, or marry, Gwenhwyfar, the goddess who ruled the Earth. And so Gwenhwyfar became the incredibly beautiful Guinevere, queen consort of the new King Arthur. Legend holds, however, that this queen's heart actually belonged to Arthur's cousin Lancelot (Lancelot). Today it helps us ensure that we enter into a relationship with our true love, and assists us in the task of keeping that love alive.
