Since practically 2010, medium has been with us; some authors almost abandoned the site, yet their tales span ten years. New authors arrived in 2020, developed their craft, departed the stage after some time, then later came back.
Writers in their domains of knowledge, etc., kept on writing or writing in general. Writers with large following began to go to other platforms after the previous upgrade as their incomes plummeted.
Those authors should be aware that other social media sites differ from writing on Medium. Particularly certain authors on Substack are usually seeking to develop in their own right; while others sought to establish themselves on YouTube but failed.
I’m writing here as Medium seems to me as a saved zone. On social media, particularly LinkedIn, or I’m weary of always seeing crypto and porn account bots beneath my postings on the X platform, there is a poisonous culture under the banner of professionalism.
That’s why I’m so glad to network under the banner of authenticity with authors and others all around. More advantages have come from the network I acquired here than from the one Linkedn brought about.
I so want to keep writing here, keep enlightening others, and keep reading honest pieces produced by other authors.
Medium paid a lot of money to authors at the time, and as they became used to this money, they began to flee to premium member-based venues. These authors particularly require accurate information; otherwise, nobody would pay for premium memberships.
They will therefore have to go back to the Media platform, which pays more than Google Adsen. They should not overly criticize the platform.
Friend Of Medium
I changed my yearly plan to “Friend of Medium” to promote the site and assist inexperienced authors as well. Looking at the pieces they post on other social media sites, I either send them a private note or advise them to write beneath their article. Because everyone has a narrative to write.
While some individuals are naturally gifted in writing, we all began our careers in this field with little steps. We should so help inexperienced authors.
Longterm Game
Our writings here are about an investment we make in ourselves rather than about generally earning money. We get more the more we invest. I’m not discussing money here. Because one may make money in any manner.
I’m not talking about writing in bars, but it’s rather amazing to share anything with your own folks online without conflict. People we dislike will also live on social media even if we will not be adored by everyone. Just write and allow your works to be a kind of personal investment.
