Officials from Hong Kong have revealed their intentions to encourage the cryptocurrency industry by implementing plans for greater exchange licenses and possible tax advantages.
According to Paul Chan, the Financial Secretary of Hong Kong, the authorities in Hong Kong anticipate issuing licenses to further cryptocurrency exchanges before the year comes to a close.
The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) is actively investigating other platforms for the possibility of licensing, according to Chan, who made this statement during the Hong Kong FinTech Week that is now taking place. According to the report, other virtual asset service providers may be granted licenses, joining the ranks of previous licensees such as OSL Exchange, Hashkey Exchange, and HKVAX.
In addition, Chan said that the Hong Kong government was not only interested in reaping the advantages of artificial intelligence (AI), but was also eager to "address the potential challenges, such as cybersecurity, data privacy, the protection of intellectual property rights, and concerns about its impact on jobs and ethics."
This is the reason why the government is going to issue a policy statement that will represent its policy position and regulatory approach to the proper deployment of artificial intelligence in the financial services industry.
During Hong Kong FinTech Week, Christopher Hui, the Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, provided this update. He said that tax discounts for cryptocurrency and other investments may be adopted by the end of the year.
Because of these advantages, Hui expects that investment will be stimulated, which would in turn boost development in the industry.
Note
It seems likely that China has seen the actual potential of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, and as a result, they are beginning to construct seed centers similar to those seen in the United Arab Emirates.
You are aware that China at the time prohibited the use of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. It would seem like a new trade war is about to break out all over the globe.(my prediction)
