Delta and DC

Well well well here we go again. After having the mask mandate lifted only a couple of months ago the Delta variant is ripping through the United States Capitol. The last few weeks have listed several big clues that I did not put together until the last few days. The big kickstarter for this was when the Texas Democrats left Texas to come to DC and then began to spread a vaccine buster through the Executive branch. While 5 members of the Texas Delegation got sick with COVID another 6 where listed as sick who worked for the White House and interacted with the Texas representatives

The city itself though is being hit pretty hard. Yesterday the CDC changed gears to recommend that people start wearing masks if they the positive rate hit a certain threshold. Today the Washington Nationals had to cancel their baseball game because 12 members of the team and staff are COVID positive including 11 that had already been vaccinated. Speaker Pelosi this morning also announced that in the hallways of the office buildings now we have to once more wear masks. No matter the party everyone hated having to wear masks indoors in these buildings so it is a universal hate.

Making matters worse for me I found out after work today that another office I have friends in who I traveled with and who have been crashing at my apartment was also suffering from a Delta breakthrough virus outbreak with two already confirmed and more expected on the way. It is pretty crappy as my internship ends next Friday and I now will most likely have to miss the next two days of work and if I come abck with negative tests like I expect hopefully can return Monday.

In only a way I could pull off I am concerned a close contact so now I am stuck unable to network at my apartment. Its a great time. 10 out of 10 would recommend. Honestly with me if its not my health its the pandemic at this point preventing me from just trying to keep moving forward. Hopefully though I will get these two negative results back quick and be able to return for my last week before I check off another internship from the list. I guess we find out tomorrow though!
