How to convert your IFARM or AMPL tips to ETH or other crypto

By Austras | Tech-tutor | 12 Aug 2021

Pulbish0x is a amazing way for people to express themselves and talk/learn about crypto while also making a small buck. This is slightly similar to how some subreddits have crypto that are given as rewards based on well your content is recieved. However with the crypto on Publish0x both creators and readers get microtips by reading articales. This comes in two forms (used to be three), IFARM and AMPL, there also used to be ETH availble for tipping but this is now limited to competitions hosted by Publish0x. Ethereum is easy to convert & used compared to AMPL & IFARM, but how can you use this new gained crypto and swap it for other tokens/coins?

Send to wallet --> Connect to swap --> Add coin/contract --> moving/using new coins

Filling your wallet

There are several wallets on the market where you can send your tips to. This process is fairly straightforward but can very easily go wrong. The first thing you need to check is if your wallet can support ERC-20 tokens, those being on the ethereum network. Easy way to do this is to see if there's an option for ethereum on your wallet. I'll be using trust wallet metamask, as I use trust wallet on my phone and metamask on my browser.

Once you've confirmed this find your wallet's address, preferbly linked directly to your AMPL or IFARM. Find those tokens and select to view the address/QR code, then select and copy this code and paste it on Publish0x. Make sure that the first few letters/numbers and the last few are the same as in your app/browser. You can also copy your ERC-20 as they are often the same as AMPL & IFARM, after doing this simply send your tips to your wallet once you get 2$ IFARM or 5$ AMPL.

Connect to a swap

The next thing you need is a swap protocol that allows you to exchange your coin. I will be using and do recommend uniswap. You now either head over to their website or connect your app wallet to the uniswap plattform. To use metamask the easiest way is to connect it to the browser version of uniswap. For trust wallet simply go over to the Dapp page and find & select uniswap. You should be able to see and select your token or coins on the uniswap app. That means you're done with this step.

It might also be worth looking around at different swaps as liquidity can be an issue as IFARM pairings tend to be rare, one good alternative I use if uniswap is dry is quickswap.

Find the coin/contract

Now that everything is prepared you need to find your coins. It should be as simple as searching for IFARM or AMPL and the coins should appear, you also might need to approve the use of a new contract. Ampleforth is a standard token so it should be listed and easy to find. However in case you can't find your IFARM tokens you can use it's contract address: 0x1571ed0bed4d987fe2b498ddbae7dfa19519f651

After that simply select the new coin you want to swap to and approve the swap and wait for the swap to take place.

Moving and using the new coins

Perfect now you have some new fresh crypto coins in your wallet. Now you can simply repeat step one to move them to wherever you want them! Maybe stake them, trade or place them for use on your crypto card? It's up to you now that you have made easy chunk of cash from Publish0x!
